March brings glimpses of springtime in Pennsylvania. Weather can vary widely—from brutal cold and snow to the advent of mud-season, springtime warmth, and trees budding.
Tonight, focus on trees. Think of a tree—perhaps one in your yard, at a park, or from your past. Really think about that tree and how trees are so critical to us.
Trees are important. The Bible contains a wealth of references to Trees. For living beings, only God and humans are mentioned more often. Trees were created before humans. The Garden of Eden was filled with trees. The guardians of knowledge of Good & Evil are trees.
Think of trees tonight as living beings. What might they tell us? What might be told to us through them?
As you meditate in quiet, perhaps you can commit to planting a tree in your yard this year or volunteering to plant a tree (with permission) at a place of worship, in a local park, or at a senior center.
